Great post, Andre, and so true. Thanks! And to prove your point: I found your blog BECAUSE you retweeted my tweet via Mike Paetzold's retweet (or my tweet) -- and now I'm here, posting a comment (and of course, I followed you too). Thanks so much --I really appreciate it.

There's no doubt about it, Andre - good manners are as important online as offline - maybe even more so. Often a person's tweet contains a link to their site, blog, squeeze page or affiliate promotion, and they'll benefit from having it retweeted. But if they haven't been thanking those who have passed on their tweets previously, there's a strong chance none of their current tweets will be considered.

Thanks for the tips Andre,

I have been applying some of these principal's and have definitely noticed a difference.

I definitely had a hard time getting a handle on Twitter when I first started and now with applying some of the principals from the products that Doug has available, I have definitely been noticing a huge difference in my followers response to me and my tweets.

Thanks for keeping us up to date with what is going on.

Being couteous and supplying others good stuff and not just your own help to set you apart. You become a resource not a pitchman.

You are right on about Twitter becoming an Internet phenomena in a short period of time. You are also right about using retweets as a source of sending useful information to your followers.

Courtesy will be noticed when applied in twitter land as so many others haven't a clue yet on how to behave. It will soon become more obvious, but those who lead the way with a courteous approach will be remembered and appreciated. Good post Andre.
