But it looks to be a permanent part of our information age. The shortness of the tweets is its critical niche. Add on tools to help people send targeted tweets to multiple different groups will eventually be commonplace adding to the power of twitter. Many such tools exist, but I suspect many more will evolve quickly. Twitter is exploding, and will probably grow significantly for a while longer and then maybe settle back a bit as the rage dies down. But it looks to be a permanent part of our information age. The shortness of the tweets is its critical niche. Add on tools to help people send targeted tweets to multiple different groups will eventually be commonplace adding to the power of twitter.
Many such tools exist, but I suspect many more will evolve quickly.

It is now the third most used social community on the internet. Only MySpace and FaceBook are ahead of it in useage. This is amazing for something that seems so insignificant from the outside, until it swallows you up and you can't or don't want to get out. ;-) You are so right in the fact that it can become extremely addicting, so you better watch out and put a limit on the time you spend there.
