Great post, Andre! It's important also to realize that the headline and title on an HTML page are different items when considering the search engines - your title is the words between the title tags, while your headline is the section between the H1 tags.

The first only shows to visitors on the bar at the very top of their browsers and is usually ignored, while the latter is actually displayed on your page, usually as the largest type on the page.

Always optimize both for best results!

That's a good question. Titles are very important in both emails and on blogs. On blogs you can use a readable title for your article and an SEO keyword title in your All In One SEO Plugin.

The weaving together of words to form a title that meets all of your parameters is an art form - a sort of internet modern business poetry. It takes some practice keeping everything in mind at first, but once mastered it becomes a valuable skill.

You bring up some great points. It can be tricky when writing for the human viewer and the search engines spiders. But with a little copy writing practice and SEO knowledge like you told here, Titles can become a very powerful few words.

Great tips Andre!

I am going to be working on a new sales page later this week, so this comes at a good time.

Thanks for the info!

Titles are important. But there are many different usages. Google looks different to titles then an actual reader. To write subject titles in emails is an art on itself. If you are in emails swaps you notice that quickly...
