3 Must Do Things For Internet Marketing

It can take a while to pick up the little tricks about Internet Marketing. There really is a lot you have to learn to be successful. You can start with how to create a website, how to FTP, how to write articles, how to do PPC, how to add pictures and graphics… These are all things you can and will learn with time. But there are 3 things that are really important for you to learn to guarantee success for your internet marketing business. Without these you might makes sales but you may not make as many as you probably could.

1. It goes without saying you must be trustworthy- If anyone goes to your site and and all they can see is you trying to “sale, sale, sale!” and you are not offering anything in return you can bet people will just click on to something else and will not buy from you. You don’t want to have your site looking like a billboard, loaded with Adsense ads, lots of promotion pitches and covered with banners. Potential customers will run away from this site in a hurry. Visitors have to want to trust you before they will open their wallet. Maybe you should have a look at your site through a customers eyes and get a look at just what they see. Try to hold back on the Adsense, banner ads and other things and make it a cleaner looking site.

2. Make sure you are offering value- You can start by offering something for free like a free report in exchange for opting in to your list. This could be your first opportunity to show off who you are and will get you off on the right foot with your audience. You will be seen as offering value to your perspective client. You may say that “free’ does not necessarily mean value but I would take issue with that. How would you feel if you went to the car wash to get a free wash and they did a shoddy job? Think you would go back to them?

And once you have them on your list, why not continue to send out free things like a report, an interesting article or a short PDF from time to time. These will keep them interested in hearing from you and they will be more than likely to open your emails. In fact they will look forward to it. And then when you have a product or service you point out to them that trust that has been developed might cause them to want to buy from you. And your free customer has become a paying customer.

3. You will need traffic- This has to be the toughest obstacle for a new marketer to get a handle on. You might have the greatest most insane offer ever but without someone to see it you will not be making any sales. You want to be sure you have studied how to make getting that traffic a priority. Find out how you can get more traffic to your site. You may even look at some courses that might show you how this can be achieved. It is that important. And make sure you are trying to get targeted traffic. You don’t just want any traffic you want traffic from people interested in what you have. Then you can turn them into buyers.

No one can guarantee that you will be ultimately successful with Internet Marketing but without these basic things you will make it that much harder to achieve success. Internet Marketing can be very rewarding just make sure you are doing it the right way.

  1. Traffic is important but having a system to convert the traffic is the part most leave out. That is one of the things that leads to frustration with new and even some older marketers.

  3. It does take time to learn the ins and outs of internet marketing and actually we’re always learning. At times it feels like you need to learn how to do evrything at the same time. Of course that’s imposible to do – take one step at a time (as long as you take action) and then go on to the next. I do agree with your 3rd point though that getting traffic to your product or service is very important. Top Traffic Tips is a great resource to learn how to do that

    I agree with your suggestions. Internet marketing is a lot of hard work for anybody that’s trying to enter this process you will have to do a lot of reading.

    Your very right. I think point #2 is almost the most important, since without giving value, no one will care and no money will be made. People are too frustrated being sold to by “pitchmen”, so if you can add value and free advice/tips, your well on your way.

    The first thing is to catch their attention. That’s what you do to get them to sign up for your list. The easiest but not only approach is to offer them something for free.

    The next step is to develop a relationship with them. This can include referrals to valuable services and thus marketing, but convey the info to them they need to understand why they need the services or information. IE why they need an auto-responder, and who you use and why.

    It can be marketing and information at the same time.

  7. I agree with all three of your must do things. Good post. Being trustworthy and presenting value are very important. And of course you must have traffic or those 2 do you no good.

    This is an excellent, simple and valuable post. The traffic is such a challenge. Then when you get the traffic you must do things to encourage folks to stick around.
    So many internet marketers make it look so easy and do not reflect all the hard work that must be done.

    What most people miss is that TRAFFIC – the ability to drive targeted traffic at will – is the single most important skill in online marketing. Willie & I have each been well-known Internet marketers for over 10 years now, and our 6-figure+ incomes all relate back to that one skill.

    Building big lists, affiliate marketing, successful launches, etc. etc. etc. all require one basic factor – targeted traffic. Great resources, great sites and great tools are a dime a dozen – you can find one in any niche any time you need it, whether through Google or ClickBank. But being able to then send them sufficient traffic to pay for your time is the trick!

    I finally have a good process in place for the first two, now it’s time to work on the traffic. I have a few ways down, but there are so many, as Willie and Doug covered in the call.

    I grabbed a copy of the call as soon as I heard about it and have been working my way through the 15 different ways to see what work best for me.

    As Doug said, everything you do in internet marketing all revolves around that one skill and that is driving targeted traffic to your sites and your offers, whether free or paid.
