You've shone a light on an ugly end of online business, Andre - and the biggest problem is that different countries have different laws, so it's no longer a case of just being in compliance with your local laws.

Unfortunately we're a long way off one ruling body for what's permissable online, and even if one was established only certain countries would abide by it anyway.

Just one more example where if you're not mega-wealthy you don't make the rules, you can only play the game. Like every other part of Internet marketing, the rules change daily and we just have to accept both the changes and the speed of changes as they come.

It's tough to get started. Then when you do some big dog comes along and knocks you down just because he can. People forget that they were once where we are. Without funds all we can do is start over. Sad.

Yes, it can be very difficult for the little guy, even if he is right. Big businesses have way to much power in this country anymore and the legal systems are definitely on their side.

As you said, as long as you are not doing something to negatively affect them, what is the problem?

It sure isn't a level playing field. It's really something to consider when registering a new domain name

I don't think this will stop any time soon, as long as big companies have big budgets and are just looking at profit and pleasing their investors. But, like you said, it would be nice to see a small guy be able to stand up and fight for a while.

Yeah, I had to turn over a URL to Amazon and another to Aweber, and in both cases I was using them to promote their products, not to rip them off. Soured my attitude, especially when I saw others doing the same thing and not getting jumped on.
