If you have a WordPress blog I am sure you have seen that another WordPress update is upon us. So, WordPress has just issued a new update from 2.8.4 to 2.8.5. Boy, don’t you just get sick and tired of all of these updates. And can’t they just put them all together and do them at one time.
Now, I must admit when the latest round of updates started coming out I was a little annoyed. After all who wouldn’t be. They seem to come out here as of late about once or even twice a week!
But a good friend and fellow blogger let me know just how important these updates really are. And how for every update that is done for our protection it might create another problem that needs to be fixed. Wow, it seems like a never ending cycle.
What you may not know is that there are people out there that have nothing better to do than trying to infiltrate your blogs or my blogs. I don’t know, maybe they have nothing better to do. I would like to also think that they are jealous of not being able to sustain their own blog so they want to make sure that everyone else is as miserable as they are.
Hey I don’t know. But I am glad that WordPress is constantly trying to stay on top of the game and they are trying to keep us safe. It may not work out that way sometime but at least they are trying and I think that is very important.
Now I am still trying to figure out just what was fixed but it must be important. My friend, Mike Paetzold, alias the WordPress Guy or as he calls himself, “The Old Bald Guy”, has a video showing how you should back up your blog before you update and he gives you instructions.
Have a look at this video and be sure you back up your blog before you try the update. And be sure to stop by and check out the blog for Mike Paetzold. He puts out some useful information that will help you out with blogging and WordPress blogs.
This video was originally done when WordPress updated to 2.7.1 but it is still applicable for now. Here is the video:
