If you have been on the Internet for some time now or if you are brand new to it and are not quite sure what to do, a mentor or coach could be just what you need to get going. You might even consider them to be the answer to your prayers.
Having that mentor or coach could help show you some shortcuts and may even speed up your learning curve as a new internet marketer to get from newbie to a frequent Paypal check casher.
So, even if you think you have had some degree of success online, an experienced and successful marketer may be able to give you some pointers and show you some other things you may have missed. They may be able to sharpen up your business model which could lead to an increase in your online income.
Mentor
A mentor is usually a more informal relationship. Maybe you know a successful marketer friend or acquaintance you respect and consider an expert in your field. Maybe you can talk with them and throw out ideas and ask questions of them.
There could be a number of mentors in different fields – one who might know the inner workings of Wordpress, someone else who is good at Pay Per Click. These could be people you can approach and ask questions. You might even have some things you could show them and you all could trade information and ideas.
Another good place to try is a mastermind group. There you would find a bunch of different mentors. Then you could bounce ideas off of each other, get their feedback and guidance and learn how to overcome obstacles. They will hold you accountable and would expect you to follow through.
Coach
With a coach you would have a more formal relationship. You would be paying a coach who would show you step by step what to do. There are marketers out there with coaching programs that have a lot of materials to help you but you may not have access to them. You cannot really call this true coaching.
Then there are some that will give you the information and will allow a limited chance to talk to them. One successful coach’s coaching program will allow you to ask him one question a day, Monday through Thursday and he will answer your questions in depth. The price can go up according to how often you get to communicate with a coach one on one.
On the other hand a private coach will work with you directly. This will get your business up and running full force very quickly but the price may be to steep for many first time marketers.
You will find that there are plenty of marketers offering a coaching program. You will want to make sure you find someone you can trust and you feel you would be able to use and understand what they say to you. And what exactly is the coaching model they use and is it one YOU want to use? For example, if you wanted to learn how to do article marketing, then you would not want a coach that only uses adwords or adsense.
You also will want to consider price. You can bet the bigger the name and the more successful they are the higher the price for their program will be. Maybe you will be able to find a lesser name but just as successful marketer who might have better prices and will be more accessible. He might be able to use you as a way of showing he is a good teacher and you will get the improvement you want and need.
The right mentor or coach could really help you move forward with your internet marketing business. These are people who have been where you are and are where you want to be. they can show you what to do. You must make the commitment to learn what they will teach you and follow and apply the steps to attain your goals.
