A good post on article marketing. It is a great way to generate free traffic to your site. The big article directories get a heap of traffic and can send good business your way. Remember, the article needs to be informative and “pre-sell” the reader on clicking the link at the bottom for more information.

I think coming up with ideas for new articles is what often stops people from writing. But you give some good ideas to help that. One other idea is to see what articles in your niche are viewed the most in the article directories, and then write a new original article on that same topic, putting in your own unique tips and advice. I too agree about article marketing. But it does take a while to become effective. I have had articles sit in some directories for weeks before they even get posted. You are so right Andre, Articles are probably the most important part of getting traffic to your site. I think that one of the things that turn people off from article marketing (besides the fact of not liking to write them) is the lack of instant gratification. Article marketing is not a traffic generation method that happens overnight. It is a LONG TERM marketing solution. It is something that is going to build over time. Another advantage to article writing is the backlinks to your site from other sites that pick up your articles in syndication. Again this is a long term solution but has the advantage of building your rankings in the search engines over time. Thanks for the great post! Andre, You are right about getting traffic with writing articles. I get traffic from my articles, but you are also right about the time factor- it will not happen overnight.
