Affiliate Marketing is one of the most cost-effective and efficient forms of advertising. It is the concept of empowering other business websites and Internet users to market your business to a new user base.
It is the relationship between website owners and merchants whereby the merchant offers the website owner (affiliate) commission for linking to his/her merchant site. Affiliates send traffic to the merchant site through these affiliate links and the affiliate is rewarded each time a visitor converts to a sale (CPA) or lead (CPL).
Affiliate Marketing is a great situation for both the marketer and the affiliate. If they would work together, they can be an advantage to both. It is one of the most cost efficient methods to promote a business.
Businesses have always relied on special deals, revenue sharing and other barter arrangements to help sell merchandise, whether it’s an employee-discount program with partners or special deals for vendors that come at the expense of some of the advertising costs.
This is nothing new and can, in fact, lead to a solid and profitable business partnership when the stakes are spread equitably. Businesses pay other websites based on their traffic and how many clicks their ads usually get.
Affiliate Marketing programs are described as a win-win situation for both the merchant as well as the affiliate due to the results based layout. Both the merchant as well as that affiliate enjoy some benefits in affiliate marketing, although there are a large number of advantages on the merchant’s side.
Becoming an affiliate has become one of the best and effective methods to earn income in the information technology era and further the ability to earn income from home has also made this very popular among many individuals.
Affiliate Marketing is an easy concept to learn, but it still requires hard work to be really successful. It can really earn you thousands of dollars and is a brilliant way to begin earning on the Internet, for those of us who haven’t as yet got your own products.
Affiliate Marketing is not for everyone, of course, but for those who see their future working from home, it’s one of the best and most profitable choices. It can be a full time career, or for many affiliates, simply a way to make a great part time income.

Yes affiliate marketing is a great way to get more traffic for the product owner and a great revenue source for someone entering a market to have products to sell.

Have to agree with you totally on this one, Andre – while affiliate marketing does involve concerted effort, it’s still the quickest and easiest way for a person to start making money online! And the more they do it, the quicker and easier it becomes, and the greater the rewards as they build their affiliate marketing business.

You make some great points.
Affiliate marketing can be a great way for someone to get started who does not have a lot of money.
You can use squidoo or hubpages to create some content and use these to promote affiliate products without having to have your own domain or know HTML.
There are obviously more effective ways, but for someone just starting out with no money to invest this can at least be a good start.

Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to get started with your own online business as you don’t need to worry about having your own product, delivering or even customer service. Thanks for pointing out though that it is hard work and there’s alot to learn like how to get traffic to your affiliate link.

What I like about affiliate marketing is that more and more offline companies that sell physical products are offering affiliate programs. They see the power of affiliates and many companies are joining in.

Saying, “Affiliate Marketing is one of the most cost-effective and efficient forms of advertising.” is a lot like saying, “The money is in the list.” This is true because both are true. But as you point out work is involved and it is required for both. Good Post.

Like you said “it still requires hard work to be really successful” And, that it does! Don’t get caught up in the hype and think you’ll be an overnight success! It takes plenty of time and consistent effort to be successful not only as an affiliate, but in anything worth pursuing…

Affiliate marketing is the place to start, and many never need to go beyond. There are many different ways to drive traffic to affiliate links. I think the key is to find one that works for you. PPC is the fastest if you have a budget to work with. Article marketing, blogging are two others that work well but are a bit slower to get established.
